Margaret Hayward

MARGARET (Thompson) Hayward BRISTOL - Margaret (Thompson) Hayward, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, at the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center, with her family by her side. She is survived by two sons, Spencer (Donna) Parsons and David Parsons; daughter-in-law, Marcia Hayward; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald (Toni) Thompson; a niece; and a nephew. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Hayward; stepson, Walter “Kip� Hayward; and sister-in-law, Barbara Thompson. Margaret was born in Davenport, Iowa, and was the daughter of Gerald and Vera (Marti) Thompson. She was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy. Margaret worked at Finger Lakes Racetrack for many years. She was an active member of the United Church of Bristol. Margaret was also a member of the Centerfield Homemakers and the Harmony Circle of Bristol. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center for the excellent care Margaret received. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 29, at 2 p.m. at United Church of Bristol, 7177 County Road 2, Bloomfield (town of Bristol). Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, Shortsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to United Church of Bristol, 7177 County Road 2, Bloomfield, NY 14469; or Bristol Library, 6750 County Road 32, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
