Paula,
I was so sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. I know your mother was proud of the nurse you became.

When I was about 7, I stepped on an old nail that went through my flip-flop and into my foot. Fortunately, Mrs. O'brien was visiting with us and she knew exactly what to do to prevent serious and permanent damage. Forty years later, I am running marathons and giving thanks to her nursing skills.
Mrs. O'brien was a patient and effective 4-H leader. I spent many hours cursing the sewing machine and oven, but I learned how to take constructive criticism and later win some pie contests - certainly with some divine help. Every time I sew, bake, or cook, I will remember her kindness and skill.
Finally, I also have fond memories of the annual Ionia Fireman's Carnival and the O'brien/Distefano famlies working the pizza ovens. Forget Little Casar, Pizza Hut, Pappa John and all the rest - give me some Ionia-pizza!
My prayers of thanks to the O'brien family.

Sorry for the second entry. Rhonda lives in Farmington, New York, U.S., not the Virginia Islands, although that sounds nicer and warmer.
My fondest memory of visiting Aunt Marge was being able to ride the horses. We did not like the SKIM MILK at their house!!!. Remember that, girls??? We will miss Aunt Marge.
