Betty Odom Obituary

Betty Jean Odom was called home on June 22, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on July 8, 1932, Betty was a lifelong Texan with deep roots and a generous spirit.
She graduated from Idalou High School, where she was a proud member of the basketball team. After high school, she went on to become a nurse in Lubbock, Texas dedicating her life to caring for others. In addition to her work as a nurse, Betty was a devoted homemaker who poured her love and energy into raising her children, and creating a warm, welcoming home.
Betty loved family gatherings, traveling the country, and spending peaceful time in the mountains of New Mexico. Her legacy of love, laughter, and strength lives on in the many lives she touched.
Betty is survived by 5 children – Caren(Scott) Calloway of Montrose, CO; Randy (Kathy) Odom of Lakin, KS; Sherrilyn (Tom) Blase of Kerrville, TX; twins Rick (RaeJean) Odom and Vicky Kvasnicka of Kerville, TX.; 17 Grandchildren – Christopher (Erika) Moore of Odessa, TX; John Finnerty stationed in London; Billy Finnerty of Odessa, TX; Christa Calloway of Sweetwater, TX; Ricky Calloway Jr. of Houston; Ashley (Anthony) Gonzalez of Hereford, TX; Tom (Ashley) Blase of Midland, TX; Delena (Travis) Sullivan of Pauls Valley, OK; Melissa (David) Romero of San Antonio, TX; Kristina (Mike) Fisher of Midland, TX; Cecil (Betty) Odom of Colorado Springs, CO; David Odom of Colorado Springs, CO; Daniel (Gaby) Odom or West Jordan, UT; Brandy Lucas of Wamego, KS; Kandy (Dave) Williams of W amego, KS; James Kvasnicka of Spring, TX; Cory (Ashlynn) Street of Odessa, TX; and Whitney(Aaron) Clemence of Seminole, TX. She was also blessed with a number of Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Thomas and Berdie Sparks; Husband, Bill Calloway; Husband, Cecil Odom; Sisters, Carlita Coldeway, Tomye Bruzga and Ellouise Stewert; Brothers, Garland Sparks and Temple Sparks; and Son, Ricky Calloway.
A family graveside service will be held at on August 16th at 11:00 am at the Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock, TX.

So long to our dear sweet Betty. She was a caring and loving mother-in-law, close confidant, and always good for a fun time. We will miss her but only w that we will see her again. Love, Vicki & Kerry

My Aunt Betty was eight years older than me and I adored her. I spent every minute possible with her. Our relationship was special! She was an especially loving and kind person. I will miss knowing that she is there.

It's hard to know the right words to say goodbye to such a wonderful woman. Aunt Betty was the youngest of her family and she was always my "cool" aunt. She will be missed by all of us. We were blessed to have known and loved her.
