Bobby Sam Hanson

Bobby Sam Hanson, 87, of Midland, Texas, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 in Midland. He was born November 30, 1930 in Big Spring, Texas. He married Joy Beth (Jones) Hanson on February 19, 1953 and they celebrated 65 years of marriage together. Bobby was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. He also served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War on a Mine Sweeper. He served as a Machinist's third mate. He was also a printing pressman for many years. Bobby is survived by his wife, Joy Beth Hanson of Midland; two daughters, Pam Savant of Midland and Kim Polk and her husband Glenn of Cheyenne, Wyoming; one sister, Pauline Whatley of Midland; one brother, JD Hanson of Midland; one granddaughter, Miranda Massey and husband Michael of Midland; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Sidney Savant; sisters, Lenora (Lee) Nix, Myrel Ford, and Mary Helen Bott; and two brothers, Bill Hanson and Jack Hanson. Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park. A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Ellis Funeral Home.
