Charles Edward Hammers

Charles Edward Hammers, 89, of Midland, TX, passed away on April 20, 2018 in Midland, TX. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Pauls Valley, OK. Arrangements are by Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. Charles was born in Shawnee, OK. to M.E. and Daveda Hammers on January 18, 1929. He married Elaine Faught on July 19, 1958 in Pauls Valley, OK. He attended the University of Oklahoma. He started work as part of a Pump Gang for Carter Oil Company and became a Drilling Superintendent for Exxon Mobile for 40 years. He served in the Air Force as a Staff Sargent. Charles is preceded in death by parents M.E. and Daveda Hammers and wife Elaine. He is survived by daughters, Sharon Lee Gilbreath and husband Lloyd and Daveda Charlene Dean and her husband Danny; son, Larry Wayne Hammers and his wife Janell; grandchildren, Brent Gilbreath, Cody Gilbreath, Kelli Haas, Kristi Dean, Joshua Dean and Joseph Dean and six great grandchildren.
