Hard to imagine still that I will no longer have the privilege of hearing Daryl's voice at the end of my phone, talking some about investments but much more about what made life matter--not the money, but the people in our lives. And I was very happy, in that regard, to tell my kids that Daryl would be the trusted advisor to work with if and when they were in a position to need such advice, and more importantly, such a friend.

Daryl's sudden departure has left a void in many peoples' lives, none more so than his beloved family. May God be with you all to bring His peace, comfort and assurance in the days ahead.

I was so sadden to learn about Daryl. He was one great and fun man. Daryl and I are second cousins. His father and my mother were 1st cousins. When Daryl was at TCU he spent many weekends with us. Would use my car for his dates. He always kept a coke bottle under the seat because he dipped snuff. He always made sure the bottle was clean when he brought the car home. We had so many good times, lots of laughter. He was a caring man always interested in family and the person with at that time.
My prayers and love are with his family.

Daryl was a classy guy. I always enjoyed his wit and his sense of well being. Besides seeing him in meetings, we played a little golf together at Indian Wells CC. I am so sorry to hear of your loss.

My dear, sweet cousin Is remembered for all the wonderful times all of us had, as we usually congregated at our Grandparent's Mama Faris and Papa George's home in Ft Worth, TX. Our Father's were brothers, 5 in all. We ran,we laughed and many memories were made. We were spread around the country, but met up when we could. I treasure those days and am deeply saddened by the loss of Daryl. He was so kind and had such a gentle spirit. You shall be greatly missed and I send my love to your children and to Mary. My prayers will be with them as they travel this journey of loss.
With love,

When we first met a few years ago, Daryl and I instantly knew we had a lot in common. For starters, we sounded alike! We grew up in small communities not far apart in rural West Texas; attended old (competing) Southwest Conference schools; served in the military; both had good friends in the Wells Fargo community, and were still visiting relatives back in Texas. Unfortunately, most
of our time together was limited to golf 2-3 days a week at Indian Wells CC, so we never engaged in many discussions beyond hooks, slices, and missed putts. I now sincerely regret not finding more time to share life experiences, family, etc. Even so, I came to know Daryl as fair, even, thoughtful and caring-one who will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mary and the Faris family. Rest in peace, old friend. Jim Parrish, Indian Wells

Mary,
We loved your husband too!
He shared about his love and challenges for sailing in general but specifically around San Francisco (we were in Tiburon visiting).
He loved you so much and you must be the luckiest of lucky to be with such a great person like Daryll. Man of the year in our AA CIRCLE multiple times over.

So very saddened to hear of Daryl's passing. He was one of my Sunday school teachers while growing up in Midland and was later a financial advisor to my parents and was an enormous help to my mother after my father passed and then to me after my mother passed 6 years ago. Praying for comfort and peace for his family. Heaven has gained a very kind soul.

I worked with Daryl at Wells Fargo Advisors for a number of years. He was always helpful, kind, professional, rational, and had a great sense of humor. Always loved kibbitzing with him. We could joke about alot of stuff which broke the everyday stress of life. I also was envious of him because he lost alot more weight than myself.I will always think of him smiling and grinning and having a great day. Wishing his friends, family, and everyone who knew him comfort and peace and tranquility in their mourning for him.

I have had the pleasure of working for/with Daryl for over 12 years now when he came over to Wells Fargo Advisors in 2010. He was an awesome "boss" to me. He always said "Thank you for all you do and did today for us" and in my 38 years in the business, never has someone appreciate me that much and more importantly, always showed it. Every day as he left, he always stopped by my desk and ask how my family was, and was truly sincere and wanted to know to know how we were all doing. He was a generous man and always had a smile and was so much fun to joke around with. He was not just my "boss" but he became a friend to me. I will truly miss working with him/along side him. I will miss him dressing up every Christmas as Santa Clause when he would go read to the elementary school. I miss his "morning call" when he came into the office "Goooood Morning Vietnam!" and his daily "exit sign off" Asta Del Taco - have a great evening" He has left a huge hole and was truly one of a kind. I miss him

Daryl or Pudge was a classmate of mine in the FSHS 1966.We all grew up in the same neighborhood friends from our childhood days. We were all friends for a lifetime. The last time I talked with Daryl was November of 2021 and he was talking about coming to West Texas sometime in the Spring. He was always full of laughter and jokes and a great person who was so ful of life. He will be missed by all of us.
