Don Rogers Obituary

Don Laroy Rogers, 65 of Midland, passed away on Tuesday, December 29th, 2020. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Resthaven Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00pm, Saturday, January 2, 2021 at First Baptist Church Chapel in Midland. Don was born on February 17th, 1955 in Odessa, Texas to Ken and Mary Rogers. Don earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Texas Tech University. He built a prosperous career in the oil & gas industry, spending most of his years with Crownquest Operating. Don was not only devoted to his faith, but was also a dedicated Christian leader, spending over 20 years teaching the Gabriel Department at First Baptist Church Midland. To all he met he was a friend and to his family he was the cornerstone. Don is preceded in death by his mother Mary Nell Rogers. Don is survived by his father Kenneth Rogers; his wife Bonnie Rogers; his children, Stephanie Fuentes and her husband Larry and children David, Jonathan and Caleb; Kailyn Gevecker and her husband Conly and their children Paige, Hunter, Emily, Ryder and Rhett; and Scott Rogers and his wife Chelsey. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Harvesters Ministries, or High Sky Children's Ranch. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences may be made at www.npwelch.com.
