Dovie M. St. Peters

Dovie M. St. Peters Dovie Marie St. Peters, age 65, of Midland died in her sleep Sunday morning October 4th. Born in Bowie, Texas on November 25th 1943 to Robert and Opal Pounds; she married Thomas St. Peters on February 14th 1964. She earned an associate's degree in Applied Science and a Group 1 license from the Texas Department of Insurance. Dovie was in the care of her husband and daughter in Edmond, Oklahoma at the time of her death. As a longtime resident of Midland, her and her husband owned the Wilco Cafeteria. She later worked for HBF Inc., Landmark, Carvel Mills Insurance, and then became an Independent Insurance Agent. Her children's book "Snaggletail" is being published with an anticipated release by the Spring of 2010. Dovie served as a past president of Beta Delta as well as treasurer for both Beta Sigma Phi and the Permian Basin Association of Square Dancing. She was also past president of Allemander's Square Dancing Club, a member of High Sky and "A" square dance club. Dovie was preceded in death by her dad, Robert Hubert Pounds. She is survived by her husband Thomas Lee St. Peters; her sons Scott, his wife Michelle, Terry, his wife Jennifer, her daughter Beth Edgeman, and her husband Randall. Her seven grandchildren: Casey, Clint, and Lindsay Edgeman; Ryan and Reagan St. Peters; Colton and Lauren St. Peters. Her mother Opal Yancey, and her siblings Pat Schaaphok , Robert Pounds, and Shirley Clark. The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home, Thursday, October 8, 2009 between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. Funeral services have been scheduled for 3:00 P.M., Saturday, October 10, 2009 at First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ with Reverend Paula Brooks officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Randall Edgeman, Casey Edgeman, Clint Edgeman, Mickey Pepper, Robert Pounds Jr., Jim Crawford, Carl Gengine, and Nick Scarafile.
