I loved my Aunt Flo and believe she will enjoy her final rest. I have many memories. One of Aunt Flo taking me horseback riding in Itasca soom after she and Uncle Jack were married. The saddle slide off and we fell to the ground. I remember the Methodist Church in Austin where they were married. I remember visiting them in Eastland or Cisco during Uncle Jack's first job and seeing Katie for the first time as a "babe in arms" I remember when she had the horrible car wreck and that my mom spent a lot of time with her at the hospital during the recovery. Aunt Flo gave my mom a set of dishes to express her appreciation for the help. I remember some Christmas's in Itasca with my cousins, Katie and Marshall, and Aunt Flo and Uncle Jack. We all had such a remarkable and very memorable time there. At some point in time I came accross some newspaper clippings of her as the "Queen" at the annual San AntonIo fiesta. In later years, at least the last 30 years, I had not seen my Aunt Flo except maybe once or twice and that briefly. I know that she was not in good health...... or so it seemed. I choose to remember my Aunt Flo,the young girl, as she was on the day we went horseback riding together. She was slender, some might call her skinny, her hair was black and her skin was light and soft. Her eyes were large and dark and happy. I loved my Aunt Flo and that is how I will always remember her.
