Fran Rose Obituary

Fran Britton Rose was born March 19, 1943 in Huntington Park, California to Souval Francis Britton and Alice Mozell Smith Britton. Raised on a Stanton, Texas cotton farm, she was destined to be friendly, determined, helpful, hard headed, and have a wicked sense of humor. Fran found her greatest joy in her children and grandchildren and held them like trophies throughout her life. She found her greatest blessing in her marriage to Bennie N. Rose on June 22, 2001 and said about him that she had finally come home. They were a made-for-each-other match and shared a deep, abiding, and understanding love, and from time to time, a pretty heated discussion. Bennie has been a faithful and constant companion providing care and compassion throughout Fran's long illness. Fran had a lifelong love of gardening, homemaking, and sewing. She was happiest playing games with family and friends around the kitchen table. She worked as a dental assistant, an administrative assistant, an office manager, and a sales person. She was loved by coworkers and made life-long friends with many people she worked with throughout her career. Fran is preceded in death by her parents, Souval and Mozell Britton; her brother, Souval F. (Porky) Britton; and by her sister, Cynthia (Cindy) Britton Jenkins. She is survived by her husband, Bennie N. Rose; her mother-in-law, Mary L. Rose; one son, Bradley Robert Avery (Linda); daughters, Lauri Avery Barber (Kelly), Melissa Avery Thompson, and Robin Hill Burk (Steve); a stepson, N. Will Rose (Tracy); and stepdaughters, Sheila Rose Scott (Russ), Melinda Rose Beggs, and Mary Rose. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Terra Avery, Britton Avery, Sarah Avery, Jessi Barber, Austin Barber, Andrae Thompson, Hannah Burk, and Cade Burk; step-grandchildren, Tiffany Hudson, Lane Rose, LeeAnn Burcham, Dani Burcham, Lee Beggs, Brittany Beggs, Bennie Lee Rose, Donald Andrew Wright, and Sarah Lyn Wright; brother-in-law, Raymond (Scooter) Jenkins; nephew, Corey Jenkins (Kelli); niece, Carly Jenkins Courtney (Kevin); and by two great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Fran's caretaker, Kaylea Madry and to Paula Telfore, Kelly Craft, and the staff of Midland Hospice. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory in Midland. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 8, 2016 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences may be made at www.npwelch.com.
