James Griffen Obituary

James Griffen Jr. was born in Calvert Texas July 11th, 1934 to James Griffen Sr. and Irene Niblett. He passed away on April 12, 2022. James moved to Midland with his parents as a child along with his 4 siblings. James is preceded in death by his parents and 1 son. He is survived by his 5 children; sons, Kenneth Alexander of Midland and Kelvin Alexander of Hawaii; three daughters, Vanessa Griffen of Midland, Janet Watkins of Midland and Rita Alexander of Dallas, TX; one sister, Sandra Griffen of Fort Worth, TX; and 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. The viewing will be come and go from 1pm-9pm on Friday April 22nd at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home at 2508 N. Big Springs St, Midland, Texas 79705. The funeral will be held Saturday April 23rd at 11am at Visionary Hollowell Community United Methodist Church 400 S. Marshall St, Midland, Texas 79701. Burial will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family. Arrangements were made with Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home and Chapel.
