James Newkumet Obituary

James Newkumet
08/22/1960 - 07/28/2024
Oklahoma City - James Walter Newkumet was born in Oklahoma City on August 22, 1960. He died July 28, 2024. He is the son of Frank and Geneva Newkumet, both deceased. A brother, Joseph Newkumet, died in 1972. He is survived by two sisters, Mary Kathryn "Katie" Dobey of Midland, Texas, Jana Chase (Clint) of Kansas City, MO, and one brother, Wayne Newkumet (Linda) of Midland, Texas, as well as nieces and nephews. Jim successfully practiced his Oil and Gas Geology profession up until his demise, causing many wells to be drilled by multiple operators and helping develop several waterflood prospects.
"Jim" had a big, kind heart and helped anyone he could, including several young people in the geology profession. He was a member of the Oklahoma City Geological Society and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. He had attended Putnam City Baptist Church and Life Church in Oklahoma City.

Jim and Gary and Mitch and Vickie were all close in high school. He was so kind and sweet. We loved driving around in our cars and listening to Nazareth
