Janice Lynn (Westfall) Pillow
12/07/1954 - 11/15/2025
Janice Lynn (Westfall) Pillow, 70, of Midland, Texas, passed away on November 15, 2025 after a hard-fought battle with cancer, surrounded by her loved ones. Janice was born on December 7, 1954 to William and Molly Westfall. She grew up in El Paso, Texas and graduated from William H. Burges High School in 1973. On October 4, 1973 she married her high school sweetheart, Dennis Pillow whom she spent 41 years with until his passing in 2015. After graduation, she went on to pursue a lifelong career in the banking sector.
At a young age, Janice developed a passion for showing dogs in local dog shows. This passion carried on throughout her adult life where she bred and showed numerous Cocker Spaniels to achieve their Championship title. Janice was a talented artist too. She loved painting ceramic figurines and making beautiful wreaths that have been cherished by many. Her talent is always displayed throughout her home in her holiday decorations. She would go above and beyond decorating every room to the max. Christmas is of course her favorite holiday of all. She would spend countless hours ensuring each tree was decorated perfectly and all décor tied into her color pallet, theme and vision. Janice was known for her kind heart and tender nature. Although she kept her inner circle small, she treasured the relationships she built. Whether it was her childhood best friend, a co-worker that she bonded with over the years or a friend she acquired more recently, she valued them all. She was an honest, hard-working individual that was well respected by all. She earned many titles throughout her life: daughter, sister, friend, artist, handler, groomer, painter, creator, crafter, and dog mom but the most important titles she held were Wife, Mother and Grandma. Janice's love for her family was unmatched to anything else. She enjoyed hosting and attending large family gatherings during the holidays and could be counted on to prepare enough food to feed an army. Over the years, she especially treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren. Janice would probably say that her greatest accomplishment in life was the family that she created. It is sure to say that the greatest Blessing of our lives was to call her Sister, Mom and Grandma.
Janice is preceded in death by both of her parents William and Molly Westfall, her husband of 41 years, Dennis Pillow and her dear Sister-in- Law Debra Pillow. She is survived by her four siblings: Judy Westfall, Vicki (Bob) Crank, Steve (Melinda) Westfall and Jeff Westfall; her five children: Julie (Frank) Esparza, Jennifer Carter, Melissa (Joe) Turner, Jason (Amanda) Pillow and Amy Pillow; as well as her ten grandchildren: Jeremy and Austin Esparza, Jaycee and Brody Carter, Cole and Tristan Turner, Mackenzie and Tyler Pillow and Malaki and Ivelisse Santiago.
Pallbearers will be Jason Pillow, Jeremy Esparza, Austin Esparza, Brody Carter, Cole Turner and Tristan Turner.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday November 22, 2025 at 1pm at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland, Texas. A celebration of life reception to follow at the Branch at npw.
