John Shuler Obituary

John Wayne Shuler
11/27/1976 - 03/24/2024
John "Johnny" Wayne Shuler, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 24, 2024, at the age of 47 in Midland, TX.
John was born to Harvey Wayne Shuler and the late Donna Gail Shuler (Waits) in Sweetwater, TX, on November 27, 1976. Although born in Sweetwater, John later moved to Midland, TX, with his family where he graduated high school from Midland Lee in 1995.
Johnny was the kind of person who lit up any room he walked into with his infectious smile and cheerful presence. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him couldn't help but be touched by his immense heart and boundless generosity. John had the ability to be fully present in every moment, embracing each day with a true zest for life. While the world is undoubtedly dimmer without John, we find comfort in the enduring legacy he leaves behind with those who knew and loved him. Lastly, it would be remiss not to offer one last, "God Bless John Wayne."
John is preceded in death by his mother, Donna; grandparents Gene and Francis Waits, and Ernest and Betty Shuler. He is survived and grieved by his father, Harvey Wayne Shuler; older brother, Brent Wayne Shuler, and wife, Melissa; niece, Emily; and nephew, Ryan. Others left to cherish his memory are his aunts and uncles: Rhonda, Jay, Becky, Gene, and Sandy, along with several cousins, friends, and extended family.
Viewing will be Thursday, March 28, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Going Home Celebration will be Friday, March 29, at 2:00 PM, at First Baptist Church in Midland, officiated by Pastor Darrin Wood. Interment immediately following at American Heritage Cemetery.

It is with complete shock and sorry that I heard the news about John. I was his foreman for a while while he was at Endeavor. He was one of the best lease operators I had. His sense of humor and willingness to help others made him a joy to work with. I know he will be greatly missed by many. One thing can always be said about John that is rare in today's world....HE WAS A REALLY GOOD MAN!
