Joshua Clark Obituary

Joshua Brian Clark
09/14/1978 - 06/21/2024
Joshua Brian Clark was born on September 14, 1978, at Midland Memorial Hospital to Mary Jo Richmond Clark Underwood and Roger Brian Clark. He graduated from Midland High School in 1996 and went off to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree at The University of Texas Permian Basin in 2007. He then completed his academic studies at The University of New Mexico-Las Vegas in 2009, with a Masters in Fine Arts. While in college, he would often take a hiatus to travel. The first was to Honolulu where he made friends with young people from all over Europe. Their friendships continued with subsequent travels together through Europe.
Josh was a kind, giving, intellectual, deep thinker who loved learning. Josh loved science and will forever live in our hearts. He will continue his journey as he was an organ donor, and his heart beats in another here on Earth.
Joshua married Wang Ni (Sharon) from China on April 11, 2012 and they divorced in 2024 as she returned to China. With his entrepreneurial spirit, Joshua and Sharon bought an apartment complex two blocks from the campus of Texas Tech University. There, they were adored by the residents for their kind and generous spirits in establishing a healthy family environment. He went on to buy a small ranch south of Midland. His most recent project was a large multi-story building in Pueblo, Colorado built in 1898. He had dreamed of building an Artist Retreat on the property he owned next to the Santa Isabel National Forrest in the Colorado Mountains.
Joshua is survived by his mother, Mary Jo Richmond Clark Underwood, stepfather Robert Underwood, father, Roger Brian Clark and stepmother, Lynne Clark, brothers Gable Richmond Clark and Tucker Sinclair Underwood, sisters Amanda Clark Peters and Heather Henderson, nephews Robert Jones and Kaiden Peters, nieces Zoey McNeely and Lacy Schwisow, and grand-niece Bryleigh Oldham. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Joshua was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grand-parents, aunt, Susan Clark and her son, Luis Vargas.
As Josh was a lover of animals, in lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to MASA Rescue in Joshua Clark's name.

45 is far too young, the world lost an artist and an intellectual in his passing, long ago I remember many trips hiking/camping even in the snow and the dead of winter, as well as rockhounding with Josh, all night conversations about the nature of reality, our time painting together, traveling through Spain and sailing in the Bahamas, his cooking, and his unique view of the world, he was unlike anyone else I have ever known
