Katherine Parkis Obituary

Katherine "Kathy" Arnetta Parkis, 70, of Baytown, Texas, passed away at home surrounded by family on October 29, 2016. Kathy was born on October 12, 1946 in Edinburg Texas. She married the love of her life, William Parkis, on March 1, 1963. She lived most of her life in Midland, Texas. She owned Kathy's Cleaning Service for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, who passed away on May 27, 2016. She is survived by her children, Dana Dickson of Bryan, Texas, John Parkis of Abilene, Texas, and Lisa Sawyer of Hutto, Texas; and by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Joann Rodgers of Huntsville, Texas and Debra Latham of Killeen, Texas; brothers, Loyd Baker of Highlands, Texas and Tom Baker of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and by many nieces and nephews. She was not only a wonderful wife and mother, but was also a best friend to her husband and children. She always had a positive attitude and enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved gardening, doing puzzles, and going to garage sales. She was a huge animal lover. She leaves behind their dog "Sandy." A celebration of her life will be held on December 10, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in Abilene, Texas. "Under his wings you will find refuge." Psalm 9:1
