Larry Glenn Mobbs

October 17, 2017 The truest and most complete definition of a cowboy, Larry Glenn Mobbs, age 79, waltzed into Heaven on October 17, 2017. He was born July 3, 1938, in Longview, TX, to Grady Eugene and Lottie Belle (Tutt) Mobbs. Larry graduated from Crane High School and retired from Arco Oil & Gas with over 30 years of service. He was a faithful, strong, evangelical Christian and a member of St. Andrew Cumberland Presbyterian church in Odessa, TX. As a well-known team roper and an excellent horseman, Larry was a friend and mentor to many young cowboys and cowgirls. Dancing was his passion and it brought him great joy. Many have said that Larry was like watching "poetry in motion, on the dance floor. He was an adoring husband, father and grandfather - known as "PawPaw" by the grandchildren. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 15 years: Teresa Mobbs; daughter: Terri (Mobbs) Karr of Rockwall, TX; sons: Ricky Kyle and wife Codi of Nolensville, TN, and Toby Kyle of Henderson, NV; grandchildren: Sidney Karr of Rockwall, TX, and Brandon and Katlyn Kyle of Henderson, NV; sister: Peggy Bowler of Lakewood, CA: and a host of nieces and nephews along with many friends and roping buddies. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Bernard Mobbs. We will have a happy send off to honor this great cowboy in January 2018, with a memorial service at St. Andrew Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Odessa, TX, followed with a memorial BBQ and dance.
