Mary Jo Halley

Mary Jo Halley passed away January 7, 2010 at home surrounded by her family. She was born June 14, 1931 in Patricia, Texas to J.Q. "Jake" Carrell and Gladys Seay Carrell. Jo was raised in San Angelo, Texas and attended Lake View High School. Jo married David E. "Buddy" Halley in 1950. They moved to Big Lake in 1956 and raised their two children there. She left Big Lake in 1972 and during the years she lived in Fort Stockton, Sonora and San Angelo. She retired in 2003. In 2004 she moved to Midland to live with her daughter. Jo was preceded in death by her biological father, Jake Carrell; her stepfather and mother George and Gladys Potter; her brother and sister-in-law Martin and Carolyn Carrell; brother-in-law Kenneth Brunson; son-in-law Dale Bounds. She is survived by her son Dewayne Halley and wife Kathy of Tampa, Florida and her daughter Debbie Bounds of Midland, Texas; her sister Alyne Brunson of Plano, Texas; five grandchildren and eight great-grand-children, as well as three nieces and three nephews. Graveside services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 11, 2010 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens 4989 FM Road 1223, San Angelo, Texas, 76905. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
