Myrtle Niblett Obituary

Myrtle Lee Niblett went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 16, 2005 at Midland Memorial Hospital.

Ms. Myrtle Niblett was born September 16, 1929 in Calvert, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Walker.

As a child, she grew up in Calvert, TX under the parentage of Roy and Callie Johnson. She loved her large family and always desired to have one. She was the seventh child of fourteen siblings. She united with Morning Star Baptist Church at an early age under the Leadership of Rev. Murray.

She married Alfred Niblett November 10, 1946. She moved to Midland, Texas and united with the Macedonia Baptist Church under the Leadership of Rev. H.F. Doyle. Myrtle was a chartered member with the Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church established in 1975, currently under the Leadership of Pastor R.E. Lathan. Sis Myrtle Niblett was a faithful and active member of the missionary society and the Deaconess before her passing.

She worked with Mr. and Mrs. P.D. Sams and family for over forty years.

Myrtle enjoyed sewing, cooking and crocheting.

Sister Myrtle Niblett departed this life on her 76th birthday, at 4:46 p.m.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Johnson, a son, nine siblings, and three grandchildren.

Myrtle leaves to mourn her devoted and loving husband of fifty-nine years, Mr. Alfred Niblett, Sr., One son, Alfred Niblett, Jr. and (Janet) of Keller, TX; Four daughters, Bettye Sanford, Norma Mosley, Brenda Seals of Ft. Worth, TX, Callie Wallace and (Quincy) of Midland, TX; one granddaughter, Wyndolyn Walter and seven grandsons, Warden Walter, Eldon Niblett, Adrian Niblett, Anthony Niblett, Sylvester Stemley, Jamian Jackson and Quinten Wallace; twelve great grandchildren; Two brothers, Roydell Johnson of Ft. Worth, TX and Samuel Johnson of Los Angeles, CA; Two sisters, Louise Hall and Verdia Forge of San Diego, CA; Two special sister-in-laws, Catherine Fulbright Johnson of Arlington, TX and Ruth Henderson of Midland, TX; Several aunts and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Family will be receiving friends for visitation on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Pipkin Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Robert Latham officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Wallace Davis, Clifton Edgerton, Paul Morris, Mark Hall, William Merritt and Vernon Maxwell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Warden Walter, Wyndolyn Walter, Eldon Niblett, Adrian Niblett, Anthony Niblett, Jemian Jackson, Sylvester Stemley and Quinten Wallace.
