Patrick Jehring Obituary

Patrick Kirk Jehring was born on July 21, 1960, and passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his parents, Robert and Judith Jehring; two sons, Robert John Jehring and Tyler Yarbrough; one brother, William Dennis Jehring; and by one granddaughter, Parker Ann. Patrick was a man full of love and life. Everyone who had the opportunity to meet him knew very quickly that he would give you the shirt off his back. Two of the most important things in Patrick's life were family and friends. Patrick grew up in Midland and considered it home. He started work at an early age, which gave him the opportunity to travel, but he always made his way back home. He became an expert at all things construction and remodeling, and could fix about anything. Patrick loved the lake, and had a passion for speedboats. He would build, race, and talk about them just as often as he could. Patrick loved music. He was especially fond of old country and rock 'n roll, from the Eagles to Hank Williams Jr. and everything in between. When Patrick had to choose a new ringtone for his phone, he would spend hours shuffling through his favorite songs. Patrick lived and enjoyed life on his terms. He didn't just say that he loved you, he showed it with his actions. If you were ever feeling down, he would always lighten the mood and get you laughing. Patrick didn't leave anyone to assume were they stood with him. He would always let you know exactly what was on his mind! (Whether you wanted to hear or not.) If you needed a friend, he was there. He leaves a legacy of love and kindness for all those touched by his life. He will be deeply missed. The family would like to offer special thanks to Patrick's care-giver, Linda Barnett, for her generous love and support. They would also like to thank Hospice Midland nurse Kelly Craft and wonderful friend Stephanie Henderson-Lowell for their amazing encouragement and assistance throughout this process. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at American Heritage Cemetery/Funeral Home/ Crematory, 4100 N. FM-1788, Midland, Texas, 79707. Arrangements are entrusted to American Heritage. In lieu of florals, you may send your donations to Gifts of Hope, 2006 W. Tennessee, Abilene, TX 79701.

Very sad to read this. I grew up with Pat and considered him a dear friend. Anyone that knew Pat well knew that he was a loyal friend.
