Peggy Rogers Obituary

Peggy Thompson Rogers
09/29/1935 - 09/19/2025
Peggy Rogers, age 89, of Midland, Texas, died September 19, 2025 in a Georgetown, Texas, assisted living facility of age-related problems. She was just 10 days shy of her 90th birthday which she so wanted to see.
She was born September 29, 1935, in Carter, Oklahoma, to parents Bert and Florine Thompson. After high school she moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, where she worked as a secretary. It was there that she met the love of her life Bobby Rogers, and they were married in 1956. Peggy and Bobby could not wait to start a family with sons Joe and Michael arriving in 1957 and 1960. The couple was very active in the Wichita Falls community and the First Methodist Church and had many friends. They moved to Midland, Texas, in 1975. In retirement, Peggy and Bobby were avid travelers, traveling all over the continental United States by car. Peggy never stepped foot on an airplane and was proud of it. But, by far their favorite role in this part of their life together was as a grandparent. They loved their time with the grandkids and never missed a sporting event or birthday celebration of which there were hundreds. They were married 57 years until Bobby passed away in 2013. Peggy will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, and faithful friend to all who know her.
Peggy is survived by her son Joe Rogers and wife Sherree' of Midland, Texas, and son Michael Rogers and wife Glenda in Georgetown, Texas. She is also survived by five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Janie Caldwell, Josie Martinez and the many others who took care of Peggy in her last few years, allowing her to remain in her home much longer than would have otherwise been possible.
A family remembrance will be held at a future date to be determined.
