Robert Craig Cudd

Aztec, N.M. Robert Craig Cudd -November 24, 1943- March 28, 2016 Robert Craig Cudd passed away on March 28, 2016; he was born November 24, 1943 in Oakland, CA. to J.D. and Francis Cudd. He quickly moved to Oklahoma. BOOMER SOONER!!! Robert graduated from Aztec High School in 1961. He was an outstanding athlete and received Most Outstanding Baseball Player in 1961. Robert enjoyed playing football for the Aztec Tigers! Robert went on to attend college at San Juan College (Farmington, N.M.), College of the Sequois (Visalia, CA.), and Fort Lewis College (Durango, CO.). In 1965 he married Linda Upham. Together they had two beautiful children, Son Robert Craig Cudd, Jr., daughter, Debbie Cudd Rich. Linda and Robert celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 31st. Robert always joked that he got Tricked and Linda got Treated. Robert loved working in the chemical division of the oil field where he was highly respected. He worked for NL BAROID Treating Chemicals, EXXON Chemicals, BAKER HUGHS Chemicals, Catalyst, and JACAM Chemicals. Robert was privileged to have been able to travel the United States as well as Great Britain and Egypt, for his work. Robert has made many lifelong friends as a result of his chosen profession! Robert loved to fish, play golf, haunt auctions and gossip with his old high school friends and the new ones he made at morning coffee at McDonalds. Robert was quite the storyteller and always had a funny antidote to share! He was the keeper of secrets, and history for Aztec High School, and all his old buddies. Robert was a great husband, father and grandfather. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy! He is survived by his wife Linda, his daughter Debbie (Brandon) Rich, two granddaughters, Sydney Cudd and Chasity Tonn. Robert is also survived by brothers Jerry Cudd, Walter Cudd, Sister Betty Cudd-Overton, sister in law Brenda Birchfield, brother in law Jack Birchfield, and nephews and cousins he loved. Robert was preceded in death by his son Robert Craig Cudd, Jr., mother Francis Cudd and father J.D. Cudd. There will be a viewing Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 4:00 P.M.-4:30 P.M. for family and close friends. A Celebration of Robert's life will be Friday, April 1, 2016 beginning at 3:00 P.M. at Alternative Choice Funeral Home. Pastor Dave West from Crossroads Church will be Officiating Robert's service.
