W.W. Bill McGrew

W.W. "Bill" McGrew passed away Saturday, February 27, 2010. He was born May 17, 1923 to John L. and Billie Louise McGrew in Smackover, Arkansas. Bill was raised and educated in Midland graduating from Midland High School in 1940. He attended college at The Shriner Institute for 2 1/2 years. He proudly served his country in World War II as a P-47 Pilot, 9th Air Force in the European Theater of Operations. Bill worked at Texas Electric Service Company for forty-two years. He worked in various departments and loved every minute of his job. Since 1991, Bill has been a volunteer for the Commemorative Air Force. He was also a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jack McGrew. He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Norma J. Hudman-McGrew of Midland; sister-in-law, Louise McGrew of Monahans, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Travis and Carolynn Polk of Garden City, Kansas; two nieces, their spouses and children; three nephews, their spouses and children. Memorial services have been scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at First Baptist Church with Reverend David Johnson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
