William Lundy Obituary

William Randall Lundy
06/21/1931 - 10/12/2023
William Randall Lundy, 92, passed on October 12, 2023 in Abilene, Texas. Randall was born in Barbourville, Kentucky on June 21, 1931 to Bill and Delia Lundy. He married Catherine Perry from Pineville, Kentucky on April 19, 1951. They were childhood sweethearts, and she was the light of his life. They moved to Midland in 1958 where they raised five children, Nancy, Jane, Will, James, and Ellen. Catherine predeceased Randall on December 17, 1990 at the age of 59. Some years later, he married Eloise Elgin of Midland, and they spent many wonderful years together living on their farm and raising goats in Barbourville, Kentucky until she passed on January 21, 2007.
Randall was a trial attorney in Midland, Texas at Lynch, Chappell & Alsup for over 30 years, and he was proud to be a lawyer. He especially had great esteem and love for Harper Estes, an attorney and colleague of his at Lynch Chappell.
Randall is also predeceased by his son, James Lundy, and his grandson, Randall Weir. He is survived by his brother, Lowell Lundy, of Barbourville, Kentucky; children, Nancy, Weir, and her husband, Woody Weir, of Abilene, Texas; Jane Belazi, of San Marcos, Texas; Will Lundy, of Abilene, Texas; and Ellen Williams of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Catherine Weir, Patrick Lundy, Sean Lundy, and Sophia Belazi; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Randall was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Midland. He loved dove hunting in West Texas with his family and friends. He was a devoted father, and his children will sorely miss him.

I was trying to call Randall about my dad`s passing, Bob Thomas, and ended up finding his obituary. We were next-door neighbors for years in Midland, Texas. What a great guy and what a great family. If any of the family picks this up please contact me. Bob Thomas

Randall was a mentor and dear friend. I have so many treasured memories of traveling with him, trying cases with him and learning how to be lawyer from him. He was truly great in front of juries, but even better as a person. I quote him often and suppose I always will.

I´m just found out from one of our cousin´s of Randall´s passing in October. He was my favorite cousin; I admired him, loved him dearly and will miss him forever. My brother, John Thomas Lundy, passed on December 27th. And our cousin, John Lundy (Walter´s youngest son very recently).
I´m very proud he was my cousin- so smart, kind and supportive. May he rest in Peace til we meet again.

Randall was a true southern gentleman to his core. A great attorney who deeply cared for his clients and his associates. I always enjoyed working with him and learned a good bit from him not only about the law but about life itself. He is deeply missed.
