Anita Bowlen Obituary
Ms. Anita Louise Newman Bowlen, age 71 of Mount Airy, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Canterbury Rehab and Healthcare Center in Richmond, Virginia, surrounded by her loving family. Ms. Bowlen was born on December 4, 1954, in Grayson County, Virginia to the late Bernard and Hattie McCraw Newman. Anita was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving is her daughter, Kimberly Adame; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher "Chris" Bowlen and Priscilla; two grandchildren, Izabella Adame, Chloe Bowlen; a brother and sister-in-law, Timothy "Tim" Newman and Regina; niece, Kayla Newman; and nephew, Justin Newman. Ms. Bowlen was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Scottie Speer officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the New Hope Cemetery in Fancy Gap, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Moody Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
