James Crabb Obituary
James Dwight Crabb, 69, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday afternoon, Sept. 25, 2022. Mr. Crabb was born June 27, 1953, in Surry County, the son of the late Olen William and Jettie Ann Shew Crabb. Dwight worked at Proctor-Silex Inc. for several years, and he later worked at Leonard Buildings and Truck Accessories for 25 years. He was a member of Freedom Gospel Church. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Ogle Crabb of the home; two brothers and a sister-in-law, J.D. and Bureta Faye Shew of Elkin and Ralph Crabb of Boonville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Crabb was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Ann Wiles; and three brothers, Tony Lee Crabb, Bobby Ray Crabb, and Bill William Crabb. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Randy Parish and Bro. William Shew officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:30 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
