Kevin Brown

1970 - 2022

Kevin Edward Brown, 52, passed away on Dec. 13, 2022. He was born and raised in Shoals on March 7, 1970, to Edward Thomas Brown and Brenda Dezern Brown. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Patricia Gilbert Brown; daughter, Emma Marie Brown; and son, Luke "Chico" Edward Brown. He is also survived by his sister, Lorrie Brown Sawyers and her husband Greg Sawyers, and their sons, Jacob Sawyers (McKayla) and Joshua Sawyers. He was a 1988 graduate of East Surry High School, and a 1992 graduate of Wake Forest University. Kevin was a strong Christian, and had a love for the Shoals Community, sports, and his farm. He was loved by many, but he loved others more. He had a passion and service for the East Surry family, and was an avid coach to many young individuals, on whom he left a lasting impact. Baseball was his first love, and he shared this love with his son, Luke, and many boys in the surrounding area. He embraced volleyball as his daughter, Emma, began to play, and shared his enthusiasm with many. Kevin was a huge Demon Deacon fan in all things football, basketball, and baseball. He was often found in the stands cheering them on, win or lose. Being a farmer was in Kevin's blood, he was heavily devoted to his family's farm, and he loved working with his brother Eric Arvizu. His love for farming ran through his veins, and nothing meant more to him than carrying on his family's heritage. Kevin will be greatly missed by his family, friends and his community. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 17, at 3 p.m. at Shoals United Methodist Church, 4245 Shoals Rd., in Pinnacle.
