Mrs. Mary Kathryne "Catsy" Draughn Jenkins, 85, a resident of the Piney Grove community, went to be with the Lord on Monday afternoon, November 30, 2015. Mrs. Jenkins was born February 24, 1930, in Surry County, the fourth of four children born to the late Charlie Martin and Lillian Kidd Draughn. Catsy was known as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved to garden, sew, and take care of her family. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Grover Paul "Pete" Jenkins, Jr.; a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Jenkins and the Rev. Keith Marion; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis Paul and Janet Jenkins; her grandchildren, Michelle Jenkins and her husband, Josh Quesinberry, Amy Marion, David Marion and his wife, Bethany Marion, Todd Marion, and Brian Marion; and her great-grandchildren, Paul Quesinberry, Christen Marion, Keith Marion, and Kathryne Marion. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by three older brothers, Martin Junior "Joe" Draughn, Roland Hoover "Bill" Draughn, and Edgar Hampton Draughn, Sr. A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 3, 2015, at 12:00 PM at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Keith Marion and the Rev. Kermit L. Gray officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday immediately following the service in the fellowship hall at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Piney Grove Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1022, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
