Mesha Hearn Obituary
Mesha Suzanne Garris Hearn, age 50, of State Road, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022, at her home. Mesha was born Feb. 6, 1972, in Surry County to Norman Garris and Audrey Phillips Adkins. Mesha graduated from Elkin High School Class of 1990 and Guilford Tech in Greensboro. She worked as a dental hygienist for Dr. John L. Gravitte, DDS P.A. in Mount Airy. Mesha was very sweet, loving, and caring and very professional in her career. She enjoyed doing crafts, decorating, and playing golf and adored her fur babies, Bella, Marley, and Zoe. Mesha was preceded in death by her sister, Abby Adkins Buie; grandparents, Ruth and Oscar Phillips, Norma and Leo Garris; and stepfather, Roger Adkins. Survivors include her father, Norman Garris (Jennifer) of State Road; mother, Audrey Adkins (Terry Adams) of State Road; and stepbrother, Greg Brewer (Amanda) of Elkin. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, Sept. 24, at 2 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. John Attaway officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the charity of donor's choice. Online condolences may be made to www.elkinfuneralservice.com. Mesha was a gentle beautiful soul. She gave freely, expecting nothing in return. She sent this picture to me after she was inspired by the hiking that my husband and I did (and encouraged her to do). I am crushed to learn of her passing and will miss her terribly. The world feels a little dimmer and has lost some light now, but only because the heavens have gained a new star.

I loved having Mesha as my hygienist at Dr Driscoll´s office. I was sad when she left. She was always so pleasant. Prayers for God´s peace in the days to come.

I am truly heartbroken to read this news that Mesha has past away. She was my most favorite dental hygienist for many years with Dr. Salisbury in Winston-Salem. She and I loved to talk and share stories about our fur babies. I know her little chihuahuas are missing her terribly and pray they are I good hands. I also know Mesha loved her family very much and dearly missed her sister. A light went out of her eyes after losing her sister...and she constantly worried about her Mother, which was something else she and I had in common. I lift up prayers for all Mesha's family and friends during this tragic and difficult time.
