Patsy Leftwich, 80, passed away peacefully June 9, 2017, after a long illness. Patsy attended Draughn's Business College before she decided to study art, and later created many beautiful oil paintings, watercolors and pastels as well as several pieces of sculpture. She was a member of the Winston-Salem Associated Artists, displayed her work in their art shows and toured several of the local and state art galleries as well as the Arts District in Paris France in 1999. She loved to be with people and after the children entered school she enjoyed working at Arcade Fashion Shop and Hines Shoes as sales representative and window decorator. She played basketball in high school and went on to win several trophies bowling with the Parkway Pinstrikers. She was preceded in death by her parents James Robert and Vera Belva Snow Patterson, several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was a loving wife and mother and leaves behind her devoted husband of 60 years, Robert Franklin Leftwich, son Robert Patrick Leftwich (Sandy) Burlington, daughter Julia Suzanne Leftwich Bobbitt (Scott), Lewisville, granddaughter Lauren Elizabeth Leftwich, Avon, CO., step-granddaughter Natalie Massey Snowden (Chris), and step-great-grandson Ryker Snowden, Elon, several cousins and many close friends. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 30 years, and a current member of Old Town Baptist Church. Visitation will start 10:00 AM on Monday, June 12, at Moody's Funeral Home, 206 W. Pine St. Mount Airy, prior to the funeral service at 11:00 AM in the chapel conducted by Dr. Rick Speas with interment to follow in the cemetery at Ivy Green Baptist Church, 808 Old Lowgap Rd., Mount Airy. The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation for all the prayers and kindnesses extended to them during this time of great loss, and to Omnicare of Hickory as well. Flowers are always appreciated and memorials may be made to Ivy Green Baptist Church Cemetery Fund and/or Old Town Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, N.C.
