Pedro Pedraza Obituary
Rochester: December 15, 2014. Predeceased by his wife, Matilda; children, Augustine, Carmelo and son-in-law, Felix Medero. Survived by his children, Martin (Raquel), Angela (Melbil) Reyes, Natalia Medero, Gladys Burgos-Pedraza (Victor), David; daughter-in-law, Judy Pedraza; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Josefa Pedraza; many nieces and nephews.
Pedro was born on December 26, 1921 in Cidra, Puerto Rico. He worked as a migrant worker when he arrived to Rochester in 1954. He worked full-time at Delco Products retiring in 1985. He was always involved with the Catholic Church, attending Mt. Carmel. He fought diligently for equal opportunity employment for Hispanics. He was one of the founders of Ibero American Action League and Action for a Better Community. He was the 1st Hispanic to work as a Democratic Committeeman for the 21st District.
Calling hours Thursday 2-4, 6-9 at Falvo Funeral Home, 1395 N. Goodman St. On Friday please meet the family at Our Lady of the Americas Church for his Funeral Mass at 11:30AM. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Mr. Pedrraza, was a member of the first elected Governing Board of the Anthony L. Jordan Health Center. That is where I knew him and later his daughter Angela. He was wonderful man. Many will feel his loss. My condolences to the family. I'm sorry that I didn't pay my respects in person.

Our deepest condolences to the children/our friends of Don Pedro. Your father will be remembered for giving the Hispanic community a voice & opening doors for Latinos to move up and forward. He was dedicated to his parish, La Monte Carmelo, to his wonderful wife & children. He gained respect for his neighborhood with his presence in Action for A Better Community. When I was 18 yrs. old He & Father Tracy encouraged me to run in ABC elections, which I dedicated 2 years as rep. He always called me "Socorro." We know you will sorely miss your father... Hermanos, Yo tub el palcer de compartir mucho con Don Pedro en las actividades y comites de la Iglesia, desde el concilio parroquial hsata la planificacion de la Santa Mision. Su partida deja un lugar que sera deficil de llenar. Mi mas sentido pesame, le acompano en su dolor. Que nuestro Padre celestial les proteja y les de conformidad. My Dear Friends, Our Deepest Condolences for your loss. Don Pedro was a shining example for all of us of what hard work and committment can achieve. He was a pillar of this community and he will be greatly missed. But his legacy lives on in all of you. Today he shines in the presence of the Lord.

I am very, very saddened to hear about the passing of our good brother and friend Pedro Pedraza. I always remember him as a person of honor, integrity, and respect. I have shared many joyous moments with him and his dear family. My heart goes out to all of you and I pray that God will give you all strength as you mourn his passing and celebrate his life.
