Rodney Nance Obituary

Mr. Rodney Kyle Nance, 69, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday morning, September 5, 2016, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born in Alamance County on December 16, 1946, to the late Melvin Leon Nance and Mary Louise Curtis Nance Bell. Mr. Nance was retired from Smith Brothers Trucking. He proudly served our country in the United States Army serving two tours in Vietnam. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Marlene Davis Nance of the home; daughters, Kelli Nance of the home, Liz Davis of Asheville; a son, Peter Davis of the home; his mother-in-law, Margie Davis of the home; a special companion, Buttons. In addition to his parents, Mr. Nance was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Mel Nance. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 8, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chris Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery with full military honors conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mt. Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
