Mr. Stephen Gray Norman, age 63, of Mount Airy passed away Monday night September 22, 2014 at his home. Mr. Norman was born June 18, 1951 in Surry County to the late Curtis Reed and Claudia (Dot) Goins Norman. Mr. Norman was employed with the Winston Salem Housing Authority and was formerly employed with Cross Creek Apparel for 30 years. He was also of the Baptist Faith. Surviving is his wife Kim Norman of the home, two daughters and son-in-law Nicole and Michael Smith and Yevonne Lynell Hudson all of Mount Airy, three sons and daughters-in-law Jason Grey and Susan Norman and Jacob Lewis and Kim Norman all of Mount Airy and James Curtis and Michelle Norman of Winston Salem, seven grandchildren Denja, Danielle, Kenley, Xavier, Coal, Nolan and Alexia, two brothers and sister-in-law Douglas Norman of New York and Donnie and Debbie Norman of Mount Airy, one sister Peggy Norman of Hull, MA. and by his mother-in-law Edna Mounts of the home. In addition to his parents Mr. Norman was preceded in death by a grandson Owen, by a sister Crystal Yeager and by his father-in-law Charles Mounts. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel with services conducted by Rev. Jerry King with burial to follow in the Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night 6 to 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care 401 Technology Lane Suite 200 Mount Airy, NC. 27030.
