Andrew "Andy" Joseph Scharf died unexpectedly of natural causes at his home in Arizona on March 8, 2007.
He was born Jan. 6, 1960, in Butte, to Eugene John and Joan Lorinne Scharf. Andy was the care-giver of his family and friends, especially the elderly. He was truly a jack-of-all-trades with passions that included rebuilding and working on cars, antiquing, cooking, restoring furniture and fishing. He loved Montana and his family and friends there, but despised the cold. When his brother, Mike, helped in finding an opportunity in Phoenix, he couldn't get there fast enough. He enjoyed living in Phoenix surrounded by his family and many friends and co-workers. He was amazing at so many things, and his biggest asset was his heart that was made of gold. He would do anything he could to help anyone. He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Eugene Scharf; nephew, Timothy Michael Mandic; and grandparents, Joseph Lorin and Mary Mondloch and Ernie and Corinne Scharf.
He is survived by his brother, John L. Scharf, Helena; sister-in-law, Nancy Scharf, Mesa, Ariz.; sister, Joan T. Scharf, Belgrade; sisters and brothers-in-law, Teri and Bill Bellusci, Great Falls, Jeanne and Garry Bartscher, Kalispell, Mary and Scott Schonsberg, Belgrade; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at a later date in Montana.

My heartfelt sorrow for the Family but one cannot remember Andy without a smile on thier face. Andy was a humorist at the very least. Joe told me story after story about Andy which I thought could not be true until I met him and Andy began telling me the same stories. I have many to share of my times with Andy as well. My other Memories are of Andy helping the old people around Butte. Andy had a kind heart and great sense of humor I will miss him greatly

John, Teri, Jeanne, Joanie, Mary and Nancy,
Once again we are pausing to remember another fine man and someone so special to all. When I think of Andy I think only of the Butte sense of humor and how much happiness that brings wherever it resides.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and hope that the happy memories help the pain of the moment pass quickly.
All our love.

Joanie,
I am so very sorry to hear of Andy's all too soon passing. He was a great friend and overall good person to be around. He always seemed to have a joke to share whenever we saw each other, usually over a cup of coffee somewhere. I'll truly miss him.
Your Friend,
Karlene Frank

I remember Andy best as the Bestman for Joe at Lori and Joe's wedding. He was so helpful to us and kept us laughing and happy. I know he will be greatly missed, but hold on to the wonderful memories and know he is rejoicing at Jesus' feet. I will be praying for your family. Karlene Frank (Lori William's mom)

There's not a childhood memory of mine that Andy isn't a part of. From grade school through junior high, high school and beyond, Andy was and is a huge part of who I am. He was truly an original and an angel to those in need, albeit a grumpy one :0)
Everytime I see the front wheel of some kid's bike come apart while they're riding it, I....oh wait, that only happened to Andy. Well, whenever I see someone get a bee caught in their motorcycle helmet, I can't help but....oh yeah, again, that's an Andy special.
Well, whenever I look at a rubber bat with a treble hook attached, because he's sure that's what they're biting on, there's nobody on God's green earth other than Andy that I think of (save Darwin, the other knucklehead he talked into that idea).
I loved him as a brother, and while our hearts are broken, we know that he has entered into Heaven on eagles' wings. Our deepest sympathies to John, Teri, Jeanne, Joan, and Mary.

When I was little, some of my favorite memories are sitting at 311 Granite with Andy, Joey and Darwin. They would sit around the kitchen table in the evenings and tell stories (including Darwin once giving a verbal tour of the Lewis and Clark Caverns with Andy and Joey acting it out)and I thought they must be the funniest people in the world. I'm so sorry that he's gone so soon.
Love to all of you,
Heather (Rickert), Mike, Callie and Carson Kiedrowski
