Barbara Giovanini Obituary

Barbara Jean Giovanini was born in Butte, MT on February 11,1949 to Lawrence Peter and Florence Marie (Barsanti) Giovanini. She died on Christmas Day at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings. Barbara was big sister to brother Larry born in 1951 and Bob in 1954. She went to St. Joseph Parochial School, Butte High, and the Butte Business College. She was a life long resident of Butte.

Barbara was a hard worker all her life. Most recently she was the night auditor at Butte's Quality Inn, retiring two years ago. Barbara volunteered as a referee for volleyball games and judge for debate meets. Barbara was a determined Italian lady, who lived life her way with integrity and grit. She was Butte strong, loyal, kind, smart, and resilient. Barbara was fun to be around, confident, successful, with a fun sense of humor. She was a talented knitter who gifted family members with her hand made gifts. Barbara was a voracious reader as can be seen by the stacks of books around the house. Montana road trips for shopping, family activities, and vacationing with her mother were incredibly special to her. Barbara was an amazing caretaker of her parents.

Barbara was a huge fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Barbara also enjoyed watching Bobcat and Grizzly football games, sticking for the Grizzlies when they played against each other. We know she will be cheering the Grizzlies on from heaven on January 7th as they play for the FCS national football championship.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Florence, and her brother Larry. Surviving are brother Bob and wife Lois, sister-in-law Marscella, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews whom she loved dearly.

There will be a private gathering at the Lady of the Rockies in the summer of 2024 to scatter the ashes.

Donations to the Lady of the Rockies or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Arrangements are by Billings Cremation & Burial Services.

I just learned about Barbara. What a wonderful woman - we worked with Barb at HRDC in Butte and everyone loved her. I will miss teasing Barb on Columbus Day.
Riposa in pace, meravigliosa ragazza, e chiedo a Dio di benedire e prendersi cura di Barbara Giovanini, della sua famiglia e dei suoi cari.

Barb was an amazing lady, she always had a smile on her face and in her heart. Barb and I share the same birthday, we always bought each other a little cake and celebrated it on a Monday morning while I worked at Dotty´s. I still have the Raiders cup you made me. You´ll be missed dearly my friend. Love you, Darlene Holman

Classmate at Saint Joseph´s Elementary Catholic school. Remembering Barbara as always cheerful. Always a warm and friendly welcome when I would see here either at Josephs Catholic church or at Quality Inn. Occasionally, she would make copies of my writings at the Inn.
Love joy and peace continue in heaven.

I am so sorry for the loss of Barbara. Whenever I saw her she had a smile and a kind word. We had many fun times together and she will be missed. The last time I saw her she was picking up pasties to enjoy with family.

My sympathies to her family. Barbara and I worked together at the Quality Inn, she trained me. She was very kind, funny and a hard worker. I always asked her when she was going to retire. I was working at another hotel and ran into her a while later when she told me she finally retired. I'm glad she got to enjoy some relaxation. May she rest in peace.
