Gary Nelson Perdue, 80
February 16, 1941 – October 21, 2021
Gary Nelson Perdue was born on February 16, 1941, in Woodstock, Ohio, to Clairiette James and Lester Perdue. Since Gary was a child, he could play any instrument; he could even sing and enjoyed it very much. He also enjoyed spending time fishing by the water or hunting in the hills. He graduated high school in Ohio and, shortly after, joined the United States Air Force. Gary met his wife, Peggy, in Ohio.
They welcomed three children while living in Ohio - Little Gary Jr, who passed as an infant, Tony, and Annette "Annie". They moved to Montana where Gary worked for many mines. He also loved painting homes and did that professionally for quite some time. We all know he loved changing the colors in and around the house.
Gary was a proud man of God and a pastor for about 35 years. He truly loved and cared for people of his many churches. He would help any way he could - from prayers or a meal and even gave his own vehicle to a family in need, never expected anything back. After Gary grew a bit older and could no longer paint homes, he started helping his daughter at the family restaurant, Annie's Cafe. Here you would see him pouring coffee, cleaning tables, and even more "PR work".
Gary grew many meaningful friendships throughout his years on this earth. He had a great sense of humor and, if you knew him well, he joked about getting your bank account information or your wallet.
Gary loved going for rides on his four-wheeler or one of his Harleys, his favorite ride. You would often hear him rushing home to catch whatever game was on that day.
I know he had the biggest welcome home in Heaven. He will truly be missed by all that loved and cared for him.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Peggy; son, Gary Jr; brother, Jeff; and sons-in-law, Michael Halvorsen & David Bahr.
He is survived by his children, Tony (Renee) Perdue, and Annette "Annie" Bahr; adopted daughter, Trish Miner; grandkids, Sonja (Josh) Anders, Jordan (Jordan) Perdue, Caleb Tebeest, Samantha (Ben) Bahr-James, Mikelle (Ian) Halvorsen, Megan (Austin) Bahr, and Mindee Bahr; great grand kids, Jayda Thrasher, Haley Anders, Cameron Anders and Ezmay Bahr-James; brother, Tim Dyer; sisters, Janet Decker, Marty Sayer, and Zippy Grinde; along with many nieces, nephews; and special friends.
