James Patrick Sullivan, 88
March 25, 1934 - December 1, 2022
Jim Sullivan had passed away on December 1, 2022 at the age of 88. He was born March 25th, 1934 in Butte to Eugene P. Sullivan and Nellie A. Sullivan, who immigrated from Co. Cork, Ireland to Butte. Jim attended Butte's Catholic Grade Schools and Boys Butte Central. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. His career path spanned over 50 years, working in the office machine industry in high school as a technician and later as an outside Salesman. He then went on later to open his own business, selling business forms and commercial printing throughout the greater southwest Montana.
Upon his retirement, Jim and his wife Pat were snow birds that traveled back and forth each year to Yuma, Arizona to meet up with some of their Butte friends, which allowed for some great memories. Jim and Pat were also fortunate to have traveled to Ireland a few times and visit birth sites of his Father and Mother which was important to him.
Jim was very proud of his Family, Butte, the Irish heritage and his Catholic faith.
He was a very involved member of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians for several years. During his membership, he was appointed AOH's committee chairman for the St. Patrick's cemetery restoration project. He gave unwavering hours of devotion and oversight to projects that included restoration of the main entrance, replacement of curbs for the road network, reset fallen headstones, landscaped grounds, installed grave locater map at the front entrance, planned new water main addition, west side fence replacement as well as the Mass rock for the Irish Ancestors. Many special thanks go out to the AOH members who were truly involved as well the Butte Pre-Release Center and H&H Contracting and many others not mentioned, for donating their time and resources in supporting a great cause.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Madeline Sullivan, Spokane, Washington; sons: Tim Sullivan, Seattle, Washington, Mark (Fran) Sullivan, Mill Creek, Washington; granddaughters: Megan Sullivan, Morgan Sullivan, Jasmine Sullivan and Shay Sullivan; grandsons: Jeremy Jensen and Zach Jensen; sisters: Julie (Frank) Barry, Minneapolis, MN and Nellie (the late Edward) Kudlow, Dublin, Ireland; and brother, Jerry (Kay) Sullivan, Butte. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Nellie; his loving and beautiful wife, Patricia; son, Jim; sister, Jeannie; and nephew, Ryan. Jim has many nephews and nieces in California and Minnesota.
Our family special thanks goes out to the Montana Veterans Association, A-Plus HealthCare, Compassus and Montana Adult Protection Services.

Dearest Madeline,
Your dad was a great guy! I had the privilege of being his Home Health nurse for a while and certainly enjoyed each visit I made to him. We had lots of good talks and many, many good laughs. I know he loved his wife and his children unconditionally. He let me know that each time I saw him. I am so sorry for your loss. Please give my condolences to your brothers as well. Keep your memories close to your heart. Sending my love.
