Michaelann "Micki" Best
Michaelann "Micki" Best passed away peacefully from Acute Myocardial Infarction on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023 at St. James Healthcare. She was 80 years old. Mom was born to Marie Nelson and Jack Miller on February 1st, 1943. She was their only child. When she was very young the Miller's had a ranch in Wisdom, MT. The family decided to move to Butte, where Jack built the Copper Hill Motel and Restaurant. Not long after, Jack suffered a fatal heart attack. While in operation, Mom helped out with chores around the motel.
Mom graduated from Butte High School in 1961. Not long after, she married the love of her life William "Bill" Best, on June 28th. Together they had four children; Debbie, Shelly, Pat, and Stacey. The couple was just four years shy of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary when Bill died from leukemia in 2007. Mom enjoyed sewing and doing crafts for the different seasons as well as decorating her home for the holidays. She had a great love for animals. Especially for Buddy her rescue Shih Tzu, who misses her terribly. People would always comment on how 'they' would love to come back as one of her spoiled pets. Mom enjoyed working on her word search books at night when she couldn't sleep. She loved planting and caring for her various flowers and lawn ornaments in her yard. And life just wouldn't be right if she didn't watch her shows; Shark Tank and The Golden Girls, to name a few.
Mom is preceded in death by her mother, Marie Nelson, father, Jack Miller, husband, Bill Best and son-in-law, Kevin Mosier.
She is survived by her daughters; Debbie Best, Shelly (Best) Mosier, Stacey (Best) Forson, son-in-law Leonard Forson, son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Kathy Best, grandsons; Jake (Courtney) Mosier, Justin Best, Brandon and Austin Forson, granddaughter; Meghan Mosier Farris (Cody), great-grandchildren; Dane Mosier and Cora Belle Farris.
A private service and cremation have taken place.
Our family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses who took great care of mom.
Suggested memorials can be made to: Humane Society and the Butte Food Bank.
