Shawn Patrick Casey
August 14, 1966 - December 29, 2023
On August 14, 1966, in Great Falls, Montana, a feisty young man entered the world. He was named Shawn Patrick Casey. The youngest of 3 children, he lived his early years the same way he did his later years – with passion and fire. He passed away December 29, 2023 in St. James Healthcare.
Shawn had a passion and dedication to wrestling and the wrestling industry. He grew up watching wrestling at his grandfather's house in Great Falls. He remembered his old time heroes like "Mad Dog" Vashon, Verne Gagne, and Baron Von Raschke. Shawn spent his early years as a wrestling promoter starting out as a booking agent for young wrestlers on the Indy Circuit in 2005. He called his Great Falls – based business "Body Slam Talent Booking." In addition, Shawn appeared on several internet radio shows, including Pro Wrestling: Shooting the Breeze, and Tales of the Squad Circle. His room was decorated with countless wrestling memorabilia and wrestling belts that he eagerly showed off as his prized possessions. He continued working avidly on his desktop computer tracking the latest wrestling trends and events until his final days.
Other than wrestling Shawn was passionate about Art and had numerous exhibits displayed in establishments around Butte including, The Butte Public Library and Butte Silver Bow Arts Foundation. Shawn took pride in sharing his pieces with friends and enjoyed the smiles and compliments he received in return.
He loved watching the morning sunrise and drinking his morning coffee before the frenzy of the morning began. He ended almost every evening at the kitchen table painting and putting the finishing touches on some new masterpiece before retiring to bed. He profoundly enjoyed music and was always making CDs for all who knew him. He believed that each of us should live life to the fullest, and experience all that we can. He guided everyone that he loved with his words and his sense of humor.
Shawn lived out his final days at an AWARE group home making lifelong friends. He became a part of a strong knit family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was very thoughtful always giving something away or painting a picture for someone. He would always be there to lend an ear to someone or to brighten someone's day.
Shawn is survived by his son Forrest Denton, brother Dennis Casey, sister Colleen (Casey) Allen (Mike), Uncle Ernie Roming and his many friends that became family at AWARE. He is preceded in death by his daughter Shelby Joanne Casey and mother Mary Jane Casey.
