Barbara "Barb" Jean Hamilton, 82, of Fruitland, Iowa, died Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Lutheran Living Senior Campus, Muscatine, Iowa. Services will be at 12 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Gibson – Bode Funeral Home, 202 N. Main St., Port Byron, Ill. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the start of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Fenton Cemetery, Fenton, Ill. Memorials may be made to Church of the Cross – United Methodist Church, Port Byron.

Barb was born February 16, 1943, in Sparta, Ill, the daughter of Elwood and Betty (Favre) Happel. She served in the US Army, where she received her nurses training. Barb married Terrence "Terry" Hamilton on September 4, 1970, at Church of the Cross in Port Byron.

She had a long career as an LPN, spending over 25 years at the Hillcrest Home in Geneseo. In addition, she worked as a private duty nurse. Barb also gave back to her community by volunteering for the Mississippi Valley Blood Center and on the Cambridge Ambulance Service.

She was a member of Church of the Cross, Port Byron, Women of the Moose, Geneseo, and the American Legion Post 27 in Muscatine. Barb enjoyed playing and watching golf. She passionately cheered for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Minnesota Vikings football teams.

Barb is survived by her two sons, Todd Hamilton, Rock Island, Ill, and Scott Hamilton, Trussville, Ala.; grandchildren, Jordan Hamilton, Trussville, Ala., Destiny (Emilio) Almanza, Rock Island, great grandchildren, Henry Almanza and Charlotte Almanza; sisters, Patricia (David) Minnaert, Geneseo, Ill., Debra Sorrels, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Terry; and brothers, Tom, Joe and Bruce Happel.
