David Sulzberger Obituary
October 9, 1966 - August 13, 2024
HEYWORTH, IL – David A. Sulzberger, 57, of Heyworth, IL, passed away at 10:55 a.m., on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m., to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, August 16, 2024, at St. Luke Union Church in Bloomington, IL. An additional visitation will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the church from 10:00 a.m., to 12:00 p.m., and will be followed by a Celebration of Life service beginning at 12:00 p.m., with Rev. Dr. Andy Gifford officiating. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington, IL, is assisting the family with arrangements.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Greenwood Cemetery in Muscatine, IA. A fellowship reception will follow at Grace Lutheran Church in Muscatine.
Memorial contributions may be left to "The David Sulzberger Memorial Scholarship" or to St. Luke's Church.
David was born on October 9, 1966, in Muscatine, IA, a son to Lonnie G. and Janet A. (Greene) Sulzberger. He was married to Kristine (Meredith) Sulzberger, who preceded him in death on October 27, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving is his sister, Debbi Sulzberger of Phoenix, AZ; two nephews, Jordan A. Chelf, and Jake A. Sulzberger; and his niece, Courtnaey J. Chelf.
David's life was devoted to music, and he found immense joy in sharing his passion with others, both as a teacher and a church musician. His music was his way of spreading happiness.
