Joyce Willadean Snyder

August 17, 1929 - May 1, 2024

Joyce Willadean Snyder, passed away May 1, 2024, at Colonial Manor Care Center in Columbus Junction.

Joyce was born August 17, 1929. She was the youngest daughter to Grover Cleveland Fountain and Effie Strong Fountain. She was united in marriage to Vernon (Ham) Snyder on April 20, 1947, and they made their home in Fredonia where they raised four children.

In her younger years, Joyce enjoyed working at Kingsbury Inn, playing cards, going to and having yard sales, spending time with her sisters, shopping for a bargain and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Joyce will be missed by her children: Rick Snyder, Laurie (Roger) Salazar, and Craig (Julie) Snyder; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon (Ham) Snyder; son, Stephen (Fuzz) Snyder; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Snyder; her parents; seven sisters: Buelah Bodman, Lorene Bishop, Doris Howard, Winifred Hayes, Fern Fountain, Phyllis Fry, Ruby MacGowan; and three brothers: Lovell Fountain, Grover Fountain and Darrell Fountain; and a special friend and companion, Bill Morgan.

A private family graveside service will be held at Indian Creek Cemetery.

Friends and family will gather for A Celebration of Life for Joyce on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 12:00 Noon, at the American Legion in Columbus Junction where Iowa attire is encouraged.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be addressed to Hospice of Washington County.
