Ann Meltzer Obituary
AGE: 94 • East Brunswick
Ann "Tootie" (DeLuca) Meltzer died Thursday, March 15, 2017, at her home in East Brunswick. She was 94.
Born in Twin Rocks, PA she lived in Highland Park since early childhood. Mrs. Meltzer was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. An avid Yankee and NY Giants Fan, she also enjoyed playing cards with her many friends over the years. Her greatest past time was her family. Attending many concerts, cheering events, graduations and weddings. A true matriarch, she was always there to listen and give an honest evaluation of the events and provide pearls of wisdom with impartiality. Her honesty and engaging personality endeared her to all she came in contact with. Her home was a haven for her children and their friends. "Tootie" was a graduate of Highland Park High School and was an athlete as well, with track records that still stand.
She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Louis "King" Meltzer; four sisters - Margaret Gallino, Agnes Nasdeo, Mary Vanacore and Frances Cerminaro. She is survived by her daughter Jacqueline Schutzbank and her husband Stanley of East Brunswick, NJ; her son Glenn Meltzer and his wife Leslie of North Brunswick, NJ; two brothers - David DeLuca and his wife Frances of North Brunswick, NJ and Tony DeLuca and his wife Ann of Highland Park, NJ; three grandchildren - Jessica Miller and her husband Jason of Morganville, NJ; David Schutzbank and partner Derek Butler of Manalapan, NJ; Andrew Schutzbank and his wife Whitney of Cambridge, MA; five great-grandchildren - Ava, Keira & Joshua Miller of Morganville, NJ and Max & Madalyn Schutzbank of Cambridge, MA; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, March 19th at Beth Israel Cemetery, US Hwy 1, Woodbridge, NJ 07095. Meet at the cemetery office.
Shiva will be held at Jackie Schutzbank's home on Monday, March 20th and Tuesday, March 21st from 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriner's Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.
