Barbara Leahy Obituary
AGE: 81 • Wall
Barbara Meister Leahy, 81, passed away Feb 7 at her residence. Barbara was born in Elizabeth, NJ, the daughter of Edward F. and Ada May Meister. She was a graduate of Benedictine Academy and Berkeley Business School, following which she was employed as Executive Secretary at McGraw Hill Publishing. She was a devout Catholic and active member of St. Denis Parish, and spent her life in the service of God, family and others.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters Nancy Leahy, Jennifer Sy (William), son Raymond Leahy (Cassandra), and her beloved grandchildren, Logan, Ryan, Finn, Ronan, Conor, and Ashley, the joy of her life. "Grammy", we are beyond blessed to have you. You will be dearly missed. Barbara was predeceased in death by brothers Edward, Chuck, and Richard, survived by sisters Ada Mae and Nancy, and brother Dan.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 11 AM at St. Denis Church, Manasquan, NJ. Committal will follow in St. Anne's Cemetery, Wall. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to, may donate to St. Denis Church, 90 Union Ave., Manasquan, NJ 08736. Funeral arrangements under the direction of O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall. To Barbara's family. I first met her when I was her milkman delivering milk to her home then In Sea Girt. Barbara along with her then husband, Ray help me get started in law enforcement in N. J. through their associates, recommendations got me appointed as a agent for the N.J. Alcoholic beverage Control. I will never forget how they helped me and my family to a career that I followed through 26 years, both in N.J. and Florida. Thank you. I have never forgotten that in my lifetime.
