Bernice O. Lemberg

AGE: 92 • Old Bridge

Bernice O. Lemberg (nee: Oken), 92 years old, of Old Bridge, NJ, died September 9, 2011. Beloved mother of Jonathan Lemberg (Karen Sakanashi), and Beth Lemberg Hima (Moctar Hima). Devoted grandmother of Emi and Coco Lemberg, and Mounira Hima. Bernice is also survived by her cherished siblings Adele Oberlander, Morton, Norman and Stanley Oken, and Helen Lieberman. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Bernard in October of 2004.

Originally from Bronx, NY she was a graduate of Hunter High School and Hunter College, along with earning a masters degree in education. Bernice was a public school teacher for many years and adored teaching young children. She and Bernard moved to Old Bridge in 1961 and raised all their children there. In earlier years, she greatly enjoyed traveling the world with friends and family. Her sweet, open and staunchly independent spirit will be missed by all. She will be remembered as a good friend and neighbor, and will be utterly irreplaceable in the life of her family.

A funeral service will be held this Sunday - September 11th at 12:00 noon with internment to follow at King Solomon Cemetery - Clifton, NJ www.jewishmemorialchapel.org
