Brian Fox Obituary

Brian C. Fox

East Windsor

Brian C. Fox of East Windsor, NJ formerly of Milltown passed away at his home on December 2, 2014. He was predeceased by his parents Frederick and Regina (Fitzsimmons) Fox, and his brothers, Frederick Jr. and Gilbert Thomas. He was born at Beth Israel Hospital in Newark and raised in Orange. He was a graduate of Seton Hall Prep and University where he was elected to Who's Who in American Colleges and the Pershing Rifles. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant and served as an M.P. out of Fort Knox and as town patrol officer in Louisville, KY, where he met his future wife, Marjorie Melchiskey, whom he always called Mel. He was employed by Western Electric in Kearney.

Brian and Mel were married on November 30, 1957 and moved to Piscataway, where they lived for 27 years and raised their three children who survive him -- Alison Ann Reinganum (Marc), Brian F., and Christopher (Dora). He was a founding member, trustee, lieutenant and president of the River Road Rescue Squad, a little league and CYO basketball coach, and member of the Tercentennial Commission in Piscataway. When Western Electric closed, he was transferred by Lucent Technologies to Radford, VA. Upon his retirement they returned to New Jersey and lived in Milltown. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church where he served as Eucharistic minister and an usher and in other capacities. He was an active participant in the East Brunswick YMCA and served on the board. Brian and Mel moved to Meadow Lakes in East Windsor in October of 2012, where he was able to continue his love of golf which began when he saw his 1st Masters while in Fort Gordon Ga. He was the proud possessor of two holes in one, and was either playing, watching or talking golf. At Meadow Lakes he served on the Resident First Committee, and was the chair of the House Committee. He is survived by his grandchildren, Margaret (Molly), Claire, Brian, Eric, Andrew, Emily, Daniel, Michael, Mariana, Anastasia, Gabrielle, Catalina, and great grandson Victor and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation, Friday 4pm-7pm at the Bronson & Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown, NJ. Funeral Mass, Saturday 10:30am at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church in Milltown, NJ. Final disposition will be private. www.bronsonandguthleinfh.com As Brian always said, "Mel and I are on a long date"….. it lasted 57 years and will continue in Marjorie's thoughts and in her heart.
