AGE: 75 • Woodbridge

Christopher Calabrese passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at his home in Whiting, Manchester Township. He was 75 years old. Born in Newark, he resided in Woodbridge for many years before moving to Whiting last year. Mr. Calabrese owned and operated Christie's Lunch in South Kearny for 47 years until 2007; and has been employed as a bus driver by the Woodbridge Township Board of Education for the past 8 years. He was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel; and coached for many years at Woodbridge Little League.

Mr. Calabrese was predeceased by a son, Ralph, in 2010; his parents, Angelo in 1977 and Aurora in 1994; and a brother, Vincent, in 1993. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Faustina "Tina" LaCapra Calabrese; a daughter, Tina Malcolm and her husband, Doug, of Avenel; four sons, Christopher and his wife, Judy, of Port Reading, Michael of Keasbey, Anthony and his wife, Kathleen, of Keasbey and Angelo and his wife, Laura, of Fords; a sister, Linda Ghafoor, of Hamilton; a brother, Joseph and his wife, Joann, of Parsipanny; a daughter in law, Michele, of Carteret; a sister in law, Joan, of Port Reading; eleven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 28, 2015 from 2:00 until 4:00 and 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 8:45 a.m. from the funeral home. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Entombment will be in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Woodbridge Little League, 35 Van Buren Street, Woodbridge, NJ 07095. Mrs. C, Chris and the rest of the gang. I am so sorry for your loss. When I look back in time my fondest memories of my childhood was having Mr. C as my little league coach and second father. He will be greatly missed by all. Love and prayers to all.

Tina, Chris, Michael, Tina Marie,Anthony, Angelo and Family. I was so sorry to hear of Chris's passing...So many memories come flowing back. We had so man laughs together.. cake fights, Chris always squeezing my knees, lol, He threw Jenny in the water and she couldn't swim... I could go on & on... He is in my prayers as are you all. I can never forget the love from your Family to us all....
