AGE: 67 • Edison

Clarence 0. Spence, age 67, made his transition on July 2, 2011. Born in Newark and a former resident of California and Plainfield before residing at JFK Hartwyck in Edison. A Vietnam veteran of U.S. Marine Corp. A truck driver with Strawcon Consolidating.

Beloved son of Lucy (Russinello) and Clarence H. Spence. Loving father of Emily and Michelle Spence, Chera yne Ilawole, Renard Mack (Nancy) and Clarence Spence Jr. Stepfather of Malik Cabe- Dear brother of Bishop Poland (Marcia), Gertrude Snail, Patricia Kimbro, Marilyn Billings and Grace Saunders. 6 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

The celebration of his life will be held Saturday 11am at Whigham Funeral Home, 580 Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Blvd., Newark, Interment Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge, NJ. Visitation Saturday 10am Until time of service at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to The American Lung Association National Headquarter, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004 or charity of your choice.

Spence was a special guy who spoke his mind. I always looked for him at family functions even though I knew he couldn't join us physically. I'm glad I got to share a few laughs with him but mostly I'm glad he's feeling no more pain. -- His Sister-in-Law, Elaine Saunders Taylor
