AGE: 61 • Avenel
Dennis Michael Derewsky of Statesvlle, North Carolina went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, May 27, 2014. He was 61 years old.
Born in Perth Amboy, NJ; He resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township before moving to California in 1985 before moving to Statesville, North Carolina in 2006.
Mr. Derewsky was employed as a Firefighter and Fire Trainer with Chevron Oil Refinery in Fairfield California for many years before retiring in 2006. Upon his retirement He worked as a fire consultant with TSI of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Derewsky was a dedicated Volunteer Fireman serving with the Avenel Fire Company serving as Chief in 1984 and with the Suisun Fire Company in Fairfield California.
He was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Helen Derewsky.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years Linda Sant Maria Derewsky; two daughters Jennifer Derewsky and Samantha Derewsky; a brother Stanley Derrewsky; two nephews Brett Derewsky and Scott Derewsky.
A memorial visitation will take place from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm., Saturday June 7, 2014 with a 2:30 p.m. service at The Avenel Fire House 346 Avenel Street, Avenel.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Monticello Volunteer Fire Department, 160 Travis Loop, Statesville, NC 28625.
