DIANE MARIE FARRINGTON
AGE: 65 WOODBRIDGE
Diane Marie (Bartos) Farrington, of the Colonia section of Woodbridge Twp., died peacefully at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, Edison, with her loving family by her side, after a six and a half year battle with breast cancer. She was 65. She was born in Newark, where she grew up; and she was formerly of Rahway. Mrs. Farrington resided in Colonia for 37 years. She attended Art High in Newark and majored in music. Diane was an avid cook, gardener, shopper, and artist. Prior to her retirement many years ago, she worked as a bookkeeper for several companies. Diane loved to travel, attend Broadway musicals and operas. Her travels with her family have taken her to England, Ireland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Mexico, Canada, and most of the 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii; and she cruised throughout the Caribbean. Diane enjoyed spending the winters with her husband, Jim, at their waterfront condo in North Palm Beach, Fla.
She was predeceased by her parents, Anthony E. Bartos in 1979 and Agnes Bartos in 2000.; and a brother, Anthony R. Bartos in 1961. Surviving are her husband of 39 years, William "Jim" Farrington; her daughter, Lisa Marie Farrington and her husband Elliot Goldbetter of Hamilton Square; three stepsons, Stephen Farrington of Destin, Fla., Michael Farrington and his wife Valerie, and William Farrington and his wife Frances, all of Manahawkin; a stepdaughter, Dawn Besmer and her husband Lawrence of Whiting; a dear cousin, Elaine Quarantiello and her husband Albert of South Plainfield; and her cat, Hemmingway.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, June 23 at 11:15 a.m. from The Corey Ragan Funeral Home, 259 Elm Ave., Rahway, thence to Vanderhoven Chapel at Hazelwood Cemetery for a 12 noon funeral service. Interment will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery, Clark. Visitation will be on Monday, June 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
